HR Generalist

Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and administering the company’s human resources programs and processes. This role supports recruiting, onboarding, payroll administration, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, employee records management, compliance tracking, reporting, and employee engagement initiatives. The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting employees, coordinating HR activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain organizational charts, position control records, vacancy reports and headcount tracking
  • Maintain and update job descriptions and distribute revisions as needed
  • Coordinate and manage recruiting activities for assigned positions
  • Administer onboarding processes and new hire documentation
  • Administer performance review processes and maintain employee documentation
  • Coordinate employee training schedules and track certifications and training records
  • Conduct exit interviews and maintain turnover and retention reporting
  • Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes and employee inquiries
  • Process payroll transactions, audit time records and maintain PTO tracking records
  • Maintain personnel files, document retention schedules and employee records
  • Support employee relations communications and documentation
  • Maintain HRIS data and prepare dashboards, KPIs and workforce reports
  • Maintain compliance records and assist with audits and regulatory filings
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation paperwork and carrier communications

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources, HR Administration, or HR Generalist role
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing, benefits administration and HRIS systems
  • Knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance requirements and personnel record management
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience maintaining employee records, reports and HR documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and reporting tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
