Mining, Aggregate, and Recycle

Feeders

A feeder keeps a plant fed at a steady rate instead of dumping material and choking the crusher. We sell and service feeders out of Ashley, Pennsylvania, and have since 1999, for quarry, aggregate, recycling and biomass operations that need to control the rate into the primary.

Feeders sit at the front of the crushing and screening lines we carry, new and used, from the brands we sell like McCloskey, Lippmann and Superior.

Which feeder fits your job

The right one comes down to what you are feeding and what you want to do to the material on the way in.

A grizzly feeder does two jobs at once. It meters rock into a jaw crusher and scalps the fines and dirt through the grizzly bars before they reach the chamber, so the crusher only works the material that needs crushing. If you are feeding a primary jaw and running dirty shot rock, this is usually the type that earns its keep.

A vibrating feeder, or pan feeder, gives you steady, even flow from a hopper into a crusher, screen or conveyor when you do not need to scalp, just to regulate the rate.

An apron feeder is the heavy hitter. Built from steel pans on a chain, it takes the abuse of large, sharp, high-tonnage feed straight out of a dump pocket where a belt would not survive. That is the type built for tough primary duty.

Not sure which way to go? Tell us your feed size, your tons per hour and what it is feeding, and we will point you at the unit that fits.

Common questions

New or used? We carry both. A used feeder can be a smart buy on a simple, rugged machine, and we can go over the details on anything we sell. Want new? We will spec it to your plant.

Parts and service? We stock wear parts for the machines we sell, and our MSHA-certified crew works on what we sell up and down the East Coast, from Maine down to Georgia. Running a feeder already and need parts or a service visit? Get in touch.

Where does it fit my plant? A feeder pairs with the machine behind it. See our crushers if you are feeding a primary, our screeners for classifying, and our stackers and conveyors for moving product off the back end.
